My family is very tech reliant and stepping away from our devices is sometimes a challenge. My job keeps me in front of a computer most of the day. We have cell phones, tablets, lap-tops, and wireless internet access. All these things are great tools to help us communicate, stay informed, increase productivity, and be entertained. However, it takes a determined effort to unplug and connect with the simple joys of life.
Sundays are a great time to go tech free whenever possible. That does not mean that we do not encounter technology in any form, it just creates a challenge to step away from time consuming technologies and try to do activities that engage us with each other and the good old outdoors.
Things I like to do are, read the newspaper, cook, play board games, go for a walk, visit friends, play disc golf, or even take a nap.
Your Tech-Free Holiday can fall on any day you choose and you can set your own rules. Why not refresh your mind, spirit and body as often as you can by breaking away from the digital demands of modern life?
